The Wagner Tuning EVO 2 Competition Intercooler Kit is a direct-fit upgrade for the 2.0L turbocharged Mercedes A, B and CLA models. Designed to replace the restrictive factory intercooler, this kit delivers significantly cooler intake temperatures, improved airflow and more consistent power, especially under sustained load or hard driving.

An intercooler cools the compressed air leaving the turbocharger before it enters the engine. Cooler air is denser, which means more oxygen for combustion and, in turn, more reliable power. The factory unit on these Mercedes models is known to heat soak quickly, causing the ECU to pull timing and reduce boost. This Wagner kit is built to solve exactly that.

Engineering and Build Quality

The cast aluminium end tanks have been shaped using flow analysis to ensure even air distribution across the entire core, preventing hot spots and improving efficiency. The original click-fit connections have been removed in favour of more robust fittings, better suited to higher boost pressures and tuned applications.

The kit is a complete turbo-to-throttle-body solution and installs at the original mounting points, so no cutting or major modification is required. It also includes a TüV parts certificate, which confirms the build quality and engineering standards Wagner Tuning is known for.
