The Mercedes-Benz A45, CLA45 and GLA45 AMG all share the M133 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, which uses an indirect charge air cooling system. In simple terms, the engine relies on its own separate cooling water circuit to lower the temperature of the charged air before it enters the combustion chamber. The colder this water stays, the better the engine performs, particularly during sustained or repeated hard driving.

What makes this radiator different?
Wagner Tuning have redesigned the core using what they call a competition racing mesh. This refers to the internal lattice structure inside the radiator responsible for transferring heat from the coolant into the air passing through it. The result is a radiator that holds noticeably more coolant and dissipates heat more effectively than the original.
The greater coolant volume means the system takes longer to reach high temperatures and recovers more quickly between hard runs. This helps maintain consistent power output rather than letting performance fade as temperatures climb. Importantly, the core has been designed to allow sufficient airflow to reach the main engine water cooler sitting behind it, so general engine cooling is not compromised.
Each unit is finished with a thermally conductive anti-corrosion coating, helping to preserve long-term cooling performance and protect against corrosion.
