The Mercedes Benz C63 and C63 S AMG are powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing up to 510ps. It is a formidable engine, but like many high-output turbocharged units, it is sensitive to heat. When coolant temperatures climb too high, the engine management system pulls back power to protect internal components. This Wagner Tuning radiator kit tackles that issue directly, keeping coolant temperatures lower so the engine can perform consistently, particularly under hard driving.

The kit upgrades both the front radiator and the side cooler, significantly increasing cooling capacity over the standard components. The result is more stable temperatures, reduced thermal stress on the engine, and better-sustained performance whether you are on a track day or pushing on a fast road.

How It Works

The C63 AMG uses an indirect charge air cooling system. Rather than cooling the compressed air from the turbos directly with outside air, it uses a dedicated water circuit to do the job. The cooler that water circuit runs through has a direct effect on how well the charge air is cooled, and cooler, denser charge air means more efficient combustion and better power delivery.

Wagner Tuning’s upgraded radiators use a competition racing core design with an internal structure that increases cooling volume dramatically compared to the standard units. The core geometry is optimised to balance heat transfer efficiency with airflow, so enough air still reaches the adjacent engine water cooler. You are not solving one cooling issue by creating another.

A thermally conductive anti-corrosion coating is applied to the cores, protecting them from the inside out and helping to ensure long-term performance.
