Wagner Tuning BMW/Toyota B58.2 EVO1 Cast Intake Manifold with Integrated Intercooler
The Wagner Tuning EVO1 is a complete intake manifold replacement with a high-performance intercooler built directly into the manifold itself. Designed specifically for the 3.0 litre B58.2 turbo engine found in modern BMW M Performance models and the Toyota GR Supra, it tackles the biggest weakness of the standard setup: heat soak under sustained load.
By placing the intercooler core inside the intake manifold, the charge air (the compressed air from the turbo) is cooled right before it enters the cylinders. The result is denser, cooler air, more consistent power, and a turbocharger that has to work less hard to deliver the same boost.
Why upgrade the standard intake manifold?
The factory B58.2 manifold and intercooler do a reasonable job in standard form, but they quickly run out of capacity once you start pushing the engine harder, whether on track, during repeated pulls, or with tuning upgrades. Intake temperatures climb, the ECU pulls timing to protect the engine, and performance tails off.
The Wagner EVO1 addresses this with a much larger and more efficient core, helping maintain stable intake temperatures even when the engine is being worked hard.

Built for tuners and track use
The EVO1 manifold is preprocessed for port fuel injection (an optional Wagner fuel rail is available separately), making it a strong foundation for higher-power builds where the standard direct injection alone may struggle to keep up.
It also includes:
- Three 1/8 NPT ports for measuring additional parameters such as boost or intake temperature
- Six preprocessed ports for NOS or water-methanol injection (WMI) nozzles, for example 90° 1/16 NPT NOS nozzles
This makes it suitable for everything from a road-driven M340i to a fully built Supra running on track.
Servicing made easy
The oil filter can still be accessed and changed without removing the intake manifold, so routine servicing is not affected by the upgrade.

In the words of the Vehicle Standards Agency (VCA), type approval provides "confirmation that production and samples of a design will meet specified performance standards".
For emissions components this encompasses noise, emissions and balanced back pressure, which have a strong influence on maintaining engine performance (power), and fuel efficiency. Type approval ensures that an aftermarket component will reach, or exceed the performance standard of the corresponding OE part. Type-approval then, is a certain guarantee that an end user will receive a product of OE equivalent performance attributes. Products on the Progressive Parts website that meet this approval will be clearly marked or labelled EC or ECE approved.
