The Wagner Tuning catless downpipe for BMW’s N57 diesel engine is a direct replacement for the factory unit, designed to reduce exhaust back pressure and help your engine breathe more freely. Back pressure is the resistance that exhaust gases face as they leave the engine – the higher it is, the harder your engine has to work. By removing that restriction, this downpipe allows your turbocharger (or turbos, on 40d variants) to spool up more efficiently, which can contribute to improved throttle response and power delivery when used as part of a wider performance build.

Built from SS304 stainless steel – a high-grade, corrosion-resistant material commonly used in quality exhaust components – this downpipe is made to last in everyday driving conditions. The 70mm internal diameter is wider than the standard pipe, which is key to reducing back pressure and keeping exhaust flow moving smoothly. Important – ECU Coding Required

After fitting this downpipe, the vehicle’s ECU (the engine management computer) will need to be coded to prevent an engine management warning light from appearing on the dashboard. This is standard procedure when removing the original catalytic converter and oxygen sensor setup. We strongly recommend having this carried out by a qualified tuner or BMW specialist.
