Wagner Tuning Racing Catalyst Midpipes – Audi TTRS 8J / RS3 8P
These Wagner Tuning racing catalyst midpipes are a direct fit upgrade for the Audi TTRS 8J and RS3 8P, designed to reduce exhaust back pressure and unlock more of the potential from the legendary 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder engine. By replacing the restrictive factory catalysts with high-flow units, exhaust gases exit the engine more freely, which the turbocharger and ECU can then take advantage of.
The kit includes two 100 CPSI (cells per square inch) racing catalytic converters. CPSI refers to how densely packed the internal honeycomb structure is – a lower number means larger gas flow paths and less restriction compared to the standard high-density OEM cats. The result is sharper throttle response, a broader spread of torque, and a modest but genuine gain in power. The exhaust tone also takes on a more purposeful character, without crossing into uncomfortable territory for daily driving.
Construction and Build Quality
The pipework is manufactured from 1.4301 grade stainless steel (commonly known as SS304), offering excellent resistance to heat and long-term corrosion. The main pipe diameter is 70mm, sized to balance flow with backpressure for the 2.5 TFSI’s characteristics. A purpose-made adapter is included so the midpipes connect cleanly to the original exhaust system – no cutting, welding, or custom fabrication is required.
- 2 x 100 CPSI racing catalytic converters included
- 70mm pipework with adapter for the OE exhaust
- 1.4301 (SS304) stainless steel construction
- Compatible with the standard factory downpipe
- Direct replacement with no additional modifications required
Fitment
These midpipes are specific to the Audi TTRS 8J and RS3 8P fitted with the 2.5 TFSI engine. Please use the vehicle lookup tool on this page, or check the Vehicle Fitment tab, to confirm compatibility with your exact model.
Important Notice – Please Read Before Purchasing
Wagner Tuning racing catalytic converters are intended for use on vehicles running standard, unmodified ECU software only. They are not designed or warranted for use alongside ECU tuning, remapping, or any modification that alters fuelling, boost pressure, or emissions control strategies.
Wagner Tuning accepts no responsibility for damage caused by a tuned or modified ECU, deactivation of the boost cut-off, or engine conditions that result in excessively rich or lean fuelling – all of which can damage or destroy a catalytic converter prematurely.
Warranty claims on catalytic converters are subject to inspection. To be eligible, the purchaser must be able to demonstrate that the engine was operating in standard, manufacturer-specification condition at the time of any alleged failure.
The end user is solely responsible for ensuring that the use of a non-OEM catalytic converter is legal in their region. These parts may not be road legal in all territories – please check local regulations before fitting.
