The Wagner Tuning Carbon Air Intake System is a direct replacement for the factory air intake on the Audi RS6 and RS7 C8. It has been developed specifically for these cars to reduce the restrictions built into the standard system, helping the engine breathe more freely and respond more sharply.

The kit replaces the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) airbox setup with a flow-optimised carbon fibre cover and enlarged turbo inlet adapters. These changes reduce turbulence and resistance in the air supply path, meaning the twin turbos receive a smoother, more consistent flow of air. The included sports filter mat maintains effective filtration while keeping pressure loss to a minimum.

What Does It Actually Do?

The standard intake on the RS6 and RS7 C8 is a reasonable design, but like most factory setups it prioritises noise reduction and emissions compliance over outright airflow. Wagner Tuning’s system removes much of that restriction, with a measured 38% reduction in back pressure. Back pressure is simply the resistance the engine has to work against when pulling air in – less of it means the engine and turbos can work more efficiently. In practice, this translates to improved throttle response and better performance, particularly when paired with an ECU remap (engine software tune).

Beyond the performance side, the carbon fibre airbox cover is a genuine visual upgrade. It looks purposeful under the bonnet and is finished to a high standard, which suits the character of the RS6 and RS7 well.
