So, why should you plump for a VBT setup instead of a more traditional, standalone offering from one of the sector's aftermarket heavyweights? First and foremost, pure and undiluted performance; if it doesn’t work it doesn’t get supplied, however pretty it might look.
The fact that VBT doesn't do anything except performance brake kits means that there are no other distractions, and that it is perfectly placed to devise uncompromising kits that fit perfectly and perform in an exemplary manner.

Brake Pads
The VBT Brakes warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship only. Warranty is for replacement of similar product or refund of purchase value only excluding all labour and ancillary charges such as vehicle towing, fitting, inconvenience, purchasing of other manufacturers products and is good for a period of twelve months from date of purchase or 10,000 miles of highway use. Proof of mileage will be required.
Warranty is invalid if product is used for taxi/hire car, racing, rally, drifting, trackday experience driving, or any other form of competition. There is absolutely no warranty on any VBT product for race use.
Warranty does not cover brake noise or normal wear and tear. Some brake pad systems cause pads to wear faster than others. VBT does not recommend any specific brake brand or compound as this is a very personal choice and is completely dependent on type of use and driving style. It is the customers responsibility to research the best material for their intended use. Therefore VBT does not offer any warranty for brake judder due to brake pad material transfer. Drivers/users must assess the performance and durability of VBT Brakes products themselves if any VBT product is to be used in racing.
Brake Discs

Warranty is invalid if product is used for racing, rally, drifting, trackday experience driving, or any other form of competition. There is absolutely no warranty on any VBT product for race use. Drivers/users must assess the performance and durability of VBT Brakes products themselves if any VBT product is to be used in racing.
No warranty is offered for brake vibration suffered due to uneven rotor thickness wear after incorrect installation of brake rotors. It is commonly known in the brake rotor business that accurate mounting and checking of runout on brake rotors is paramount at installation and in spite of necessary warnings many mechanics still see fit to ignore this warning and make no effort whatsoever to check rotor runout. This leads to brake vibration in the 3-5,000 miles lifetime period and is not a warrantable condition. The solution for vibration at this stage is to have the rotors turned or replaced and to thoroughly clean the mounting flange on the vehicle and carefully check for runout before returning the vehicle to service use.
VBT will always be happy to assist with any technical issues you may have and will give advice where we possible.

Braking components are serviceable items and must be subject to regular inspections. Due to the nature of performance brakes, it is highly recommended that they are fitted and serviced by qualified technicians. DIY fitting is not advised. VBT warranty is valid with the original purchaser only and is not transferable.
Race/Track Use
No Warranty is offered or implied on any product purchased from Vagbremtechnic (VBT) for race Use, competition use, track day use or use on any race circuit or drag strip.
Racing Brakes
Racing brakes supplied by VBT are not covered by any warranty due to the nature of their intended use. Racing brake pads are not covered by ECE-90 and is down to the purchaser to ascertain the suitability of the brake pads for their intended use. Contact VBT if require further information.
Brake Fitting Guide
Fitting Instructions for Brake Discs (Rotors) and Brake Pads
Important General Information:
- Brakes are safety critical and must be fitted by qualified persons only.
- Special instructions issued by the vehicle and brake manufacturer must be observed.
- Brake discs (rotors) should be replaced as axle sets.
- In general, brake pads must be replaced at the same time to avoid poor brake operation and performance.
- Ensure suitable PPE is worn
- Ensure correct tools and equipment are used
Fitting:
- Once the vehicle is in a safe position (on a suitable lift or axles stands with wheels chocked )
- Remove the wheels in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
- Clean off brake dust from the brake system using a suitable brake cleaner or vacuum. Compressed air must not be used. If inhaled, brake dust can be harmful to health.
- Remove brake caliper and secure to the vehicle with appropriate means. It is advisable to complete one side at a time as components can be handed.
- Calipers must not be left to hang on the brake hose, as this can damage the hose leading to complete brake failure.
- Crack bleed nipple and attached a suitable bleed bottle then push piston back with a suitable wind back tool or pad spreader.
- Remove caliper carrier (bracket)
- Clean brake pad contact points on the caliper carrier and caliper to ensure correct brake pad alignment.
Failure to do this can lead to poor brake performance, brake noise and brake judder.
- It is advised that any brake pad fittings, springs, shims, bolts etc. are replaced.
- Once the disc is removed, clean the hub face meticulously so it is free from corrosion, dirt and contamination. Hub faces should exhibit a bright metallic finish.
- Measure hub run out with a suitable DTI kit. Run out should be no more than 0.03mm
- Refit new disc, observing rotation orientation, using fixing screw torqued to manufacturers specification.
- Measure disc run out. Disc run out should be no more than 0.07mm unless stated otherwise by vehicle manufacturer. (A guide to run out and problem solving is available from VBT).
Brake judder caused by incorrect installation will void any warranty.
- Refit brake caliper and carrier, observing specified torque settings, along with new brake pads. Lightly grease pad contact points at each end of the pad (do not grease pad backplate unless specified by the brake or vehicle manufacturer). Use only authorised or non-metallic brake grease.
Copper grease must not be used on any part of the brake system and will void any warranty.
- Clean wheel mounting face from any contamination before refitting and check for any damage of the wheel or tyre.
- Tighten bolts crosswise and torque wheel fixing in accordance with the manufacturer’s specification.
Functional test:
- Once the vehicle is back on the ground, repeatedly actuate the brake pedal to ensure correct travel and feel.
- Top up brake fluid in line with manufacturers specification.
Caution: If mishandled, brake fluid can cause serious damage or injury. Observe the brake fluid manufacturer’s instructions.
- Check for leaks on and around the full brake system.
Bed new pads and discs in for 200-300 miles, avoiding harsh or heavy braking unless otherwise stated by the vehicle or brake manufacturer.

What do our stock statuses mean?
1+ IN STOCK in green stock is readily available in one of our warehouses for express delivery (at the time of viewing).
LOW STOCK in green means we're running low! 1 or 2 left on the shelf so act fast. Over evenings, weekends and bank holidays this stock can move quickly so please bear this in mind.
0 IN STOCK in blue means our primary warehouse does not have unallocated stock, but our UK partners do. Often these can be shipped quickly and efficiently. You'll be notified via the Track My Order page if further delays are unavoidable.
MADE TO ORDER in blue means we've partnered with a supplier which primarily makes their products to order. It's not on our shelf, but your order goes into production immediately.
0 IN STOCK in orange means everybody we work with is unfortunately out of stock. Stock is not available in the UK. The best course of action is to place an order to create an allocation from the next batch arriving.
OUT OF STOCK in red. This product is unavailable to order, for whatever reason we're unable to obtain stock or there is an issue with supply/lead times.

In the words of the Vehicle Standards Agency (VCA), type approval provides "confirmation that production and samples of a design will meet specified performance standards".
For emissions components this encompasses noise, emissions and balanced back pressure, which have a strong influence on maintaining engine performance (power), and fuel efficiency. Type approval ensures that an aftermarket component will reach, or exceed the performance standard of the corresponding OE part.
Type-approval then, is a certain guarantee that an end user will receive a product of OE equivalent performance attributes.
Products on the Progressive Parts website that meet this approval will be clearly marked or labelled EC or ECE approved.
