This Ramair panel filter (RPF-2192) is a direct-fit replacement for the standard paper air filter in the Toyota GR Yaris and GR Corolla. It drops straight into your existing airbox, making it one of the simplest performance upgrades you can make – no modifications needed.

The standard paper filter that comes fitted from the factory is designed primarily to meet cost and emissions targets, not to maximise airflow. Swapping it for a Ramair foam filter allows your engine to breathe more freely, which can contribute to improved throttle response and a more natural power delivery, particularly during hard acceleration.

What Makes It Different?

Ramair use a twin-layer reticulated foam (an open-cell foam structure that traps dirt while allowing more air to pass through than paper) rather than the single-layer paper used in standard filters. This dual-layer construction balances filtration and airflow – keeping harmful particles out of your engine while reducing the restriction that a paper filter introduces.

The filter is built around a stainless steel cage, giving it a rigid structure that prevents it from collapsing under high airflow conditions. This is the same type of construction Ramair use in their motorsport applications. A custom-blended rubber polymer surround ensures a consistent, clean seal against your airbox – so there are no gaps that could allow unfiltered air past the edges.

This filter is MAF safe – meaning it will not interfere with your Mass Air Flow sensor (the sensor your car uses to measure incoming air and calculate the correct fuel mixture). Some aftermarket filters can cause issues here, so this is worth noting.

Installation & Maintenance

Fitting is straightforward – this filter is a like-for-like replacement for the OEM paper element and requires no cutting, drilling, or remapping. Simply open the airbox, remove the old filter, and fit the Ramair in its place.

Unlike disposable paper filters, this filter can be cleaned and reused. Ramair recommend using their filter maintenance kit CK-003 for cleaning, which helps restore the foam’s filtration properties and extends the life of the filter.
