The Ramair PRK-386-BK is a complete performance air intake kit designed for the VAG 1.0 TSI engine – the small-capacity turbocharged petrol engine found in a wide range of Volkswagen Group cars. It replaces the standard airbox and intake pipe with a freer-flowing setup, helping the engine breathe more easily and giving a noticeable improvement in throttle response and induction sound.

The standard factory intake is designed with cost and noise reduction in mind, which often means it restricts airflow more than it needs to. Swapping it for a performance intake like this one removes that restriction, allowing the turbocharger (the device that forces extra air into the engine to boost power) to work with less effort. The result is a more responsive feel when you accelerate, particularly in the mid-range where these engines do most of their work.

The Pleated Filter
