This is Ramair’s dedicated performance intake kit for the Audi TT 8J fitted with the EA888 2.0 TFSI engine (CESA engine code). It replaces the factory air intake system with a higher-flowing setup designed to improve airflow to the turbo, giving you better throttle response and a more pronounced induction sound.

Ramair have been developing induction systems for many years, and their approach is straightforward – if a kit doesn’t genuinely improve performance on a specific vehicle, they won’t produce it. This kit is suitable whether your TT is running standard power or has already been modified or remapped.

What This Kit Does

The factory air intake on the 2.0 TFSI is designed with cost and noise reduction in mind, not outright performance. This Ramair kit replaces all of the standard intake pipework right back to the turbo inlet (the point where air enters the turbocharger), allowing a greater volume of air to flow more freely. More air reaching the turbo efficiently means the engine can perform closer to its potential, particularly on tuned or remapped cars where the standard intake can become a restriction.

You’ll also notice a more audible induction sound – the typical whoosh and pull of the turbo becomes more present, which many TT owners enjoy as part of the driving experience.

High-Flow Performance Filter

The filter at the heart of this kit uses Ramair’s twin-layer performance foam construction, supported by a stainless-steel cage for long-term durability. Air is drawn through a satin black, flow-calculated trumpet – essentially a shaped inlet designed to guide air smoothly into the filter without turbulence.

CNC Laser-Cut Heatshield

One of the key differences with this kit is the two-part heatshield. Heat from the engine bay is the enemy of a cold air intake – warm air is less dense, meaning less oxygen for combustion. Ramair’s heatshield is CNC laser-cut (shaped with computer-guided precision), assembled with aircraft-grade rivets, and finished in a satin black powder coat. This level of construction is consistent with what Ramair use in their motorsport-grade products, helping to keep the intake drawing cooler air from outside the engine bay rather than hot air from within it.

Complete Fitting Kit Included

Every nut, bolt, and bracket needed for installation is included and inspected twice before packaging. Updated, high-quality fitting instructions are also provided to make installation as straightforward as possible.
