This Ramair Jetstream induction kit is a direct upgrade to the standard factory air intake system on the Volkswagen Polo Mk6 GTI (AW) and Golf Mk7 1.6 TDI. It replaces the restrictive OEM airbox setup with a high-flow performance filter and purpose-built heat shield, allowing the engine to breathe more freely and respond more naturally.

The result is improved airflow into the engine, a more engaging induction sound under acceleration, and a cleaner, more purposeful look under the bonnet – without requiring any permanent modifications to the car.

High-Flow Performance Air Filter

At the heart of the kit is Ramair’s twin-layer open-cell foam filter, housed within a stainless-steel cage support structure. The filter is paired with a satin black, flow-calculated trumpet (a specially shaped inlet that smooths and directs airflow into the filter). This design increases the volume and efficiency of air reaching the engine compared to the standard paper filter element.

Laser-Cut Heat Shield

A powder-coated heat shield is included and fits directly to the factory airbox mounting points and rubbers – no cutting or drilling required. This is an important part of the kit. Without it, the filter sits in the open engine bay and can draw in warm air, which is less dense and less effective for combustion. The heat shield creates a physical barrier between the filter and heat sources in the engine bay, and channels cooler air from the factory cold air feed directly to the filter. This helps maintain intake temperatures and preserves the performance benefit of the upgrade in real-world driving conditions.
