This induction kit from Ramair is a complete replacement for the factory air intake system on a wide range of VAG Group (Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Skoda) diesel models using the 2.0 TDI engine on the MQB platform. It replaces the standard intake pipework all the way back to the turbo inlet, allowing the engine to breathe more freely and respond more cleanly.

Ramair have spent many years supplying filters and intake systems to some of the UK and Europe’s most respected VAG performance tuners. This kit is a direct result of that experience, now made available as an off-the-shelf product for everyday enthusiasts.

What Does It Do?

The factory air intake is designed with cost and noise reduction in mind, not outright airflow. By replacing it with this kit, you remove restrictions in the path air takes to reach the turbo (the forced induction system that compresses air into the engine). The result is up to 25% less restriction in airflow, which helps the engine and turbo work more efficiently. When used alongside an ECU remap (a software tune of the engine’s control unit), gains of up to 10% are industry-reported – though actual results will vary depending on the state of tune and condition of your vehicle.

Beyond performance, you also get a more noticeable induction sound – the characteristic intake note that lets you hear the turbo spooling under acceleration.

Build Quality

The heat shield is precision-cut using the same laser technology Ramair use in their tier 1 motorsport components. It is more detailed and better fitting than many alternatives on the market. Every fitting kit is inspected twice before packaging to make sure everything needed is included.

The filter itself uses Ramair’s own twin-layer foam construction – a design refined over years of motorsport and performance road use. It is reusable and serviceable, making it a long-term investment over disposable paper filters.

Fitment

This kit fits a broad range of 2.0 TDI diesel models across the VW Group MQB platform from 2012 onwards, including the Volkswagen Golf Mk7, Passat, Tiguan, T-Roc, Arteon, Touran and Caddy; Audi A3 (8V) and Q series; SEAT Leon, Ateca and Tarraco; and Skoda Octavia, Kodiaq and Superb.
