What it does
Upgrade your stopping power for serious track use. RST 4 gives a strong initial bite, consistent pedal feel, and reliable performance under repeated hard braking. It stays stable at high temperatures and offers good control when trail braking.
Compound overview
RST 4 is a sprint racing compound designed for short to medium race distances, tarmac rally, hillclimb, autocross and time attack. It comes in fast, works across a broad heat range, and is easy to modulate. Often used on the rear axle with higher-friction fronts, but also works as a balanced setup on lighter cars.

- Track days, club racing, time attack, tarmac rally and hillclimb
Not recommended for everyday road use due to noise, dust and required operating temperature.

Bed-in and usage notes
– Follow a proper bed-in to reach full performance.
– Expect more brake dust and noise than OE pads.
– Works best when hot. Cold bite is lower than a road pad.
– Monitor disc wear and check pads regularly during events.

In the words of the Vehicle Standards Agency (VCA), type approval provides "confirmation that production and samples of a design will meet specified performance standards".
For emissions components this encompasses noise, emissions and balanced back pressure, which have a strong influence on maintaining engine performance (power), and fuel efficiency. Type approval ensures that an aftermarket component will reach, or exceed the performance standard of the corresponding OE part.
Type-approval then, is a certain guarantee that an end user will receive a product of OE equivalent performance attributes.
