NGK ILZKGR7B8G Laser Iridium Spark Plug (Stock No. 97434)
The NGK ILZKGR7B8G is a Laser Iridium spark plug built for reliable ignition under high load and temperature. It provides a strong, consistent spark, helps cold starts, and resists fouling in stop-start and short trips. The fine iridium centre electrode needs less voltage to fire, which can improve throttle response and stability at idle.
Use it as a performance-friendly OE replacement where specified by the manufacturer. It suits many modern turbocharged, direct-injection petrol engines that require an NGK heat range 7, M12 plug with long reach. Always confirm fitment with the vehicle lookup or the Vehicle Fitment tab.

Install Tips
– Fit to a cold engine. Hand-thread first to avoid cross-threading.
– Check gap if the application requires it. Do not force the fine iridium tip.
– Torque to spec. Re-torque only if the plug has been removed and the gasket re-used.
If unsure, have a qualified technician install and check for the latest OE gap and torque values.

In the words of the Vehicle Standards Agency (VCA), type approval provides "confirmation that production and samples of a design will meet specified performance standards".
For emissions components this encompasses noise, emissions and balanced back pressure, which have a strong influence on maintaining engine performance (power), and fuel efficiency. Type approval ensures that an aftermarket component will reach, or exceed the performance standard of the corresponding OE part.
Type-approval then, is a certain guarantee that an end user will receive a product of OE equivalent performance attributes.
