NGK ILTR5A-13G Laser Iridium Spark Plug (Stock No. 3811)
The NGK ILTR5A-13G is a Laser Iridium spark plug designed for stable ignition, long life and consistent performance. It uses a fine iridium centre tip for a strong spark with less voltage, helping cold starts, smooth idle and efficient combustion. A platinum pad on the ground electrode reduces wear, so the gap stays stable for longer.

Notes: Supplied pre-gapped at 1.3 mm. Always follow the vehicle manufacturer’s gap specification. Do not use anti-seize unless specified by NGK. Install on a cool engine and torque correctly.

In the words of the Vehicle Standards Agency (VCA), type approval provides "confirmation that production and samples of a design will meet specified performance standards".
For emissions components this encompasses noise, emissions and balanced back pressure, which have a strong influence on maintaining engine performance (power), and fuel efficiency. Type approval ensures that an aftermarket component will reach, or exceed the performance standard of the corresponding OE part.
Type-approval then, is a certain guarantee that an end user will receive a product of OE equivalent performance attributes.
