NGK BKR6EP-11 Platinum Spark Plug – Stock No. 2978
The NGK BKR6EP-11 is a resistor spark plug with a platinum centre electrode. It gives a strong, stable spark for reliable starting, smooth idle and consistent performance under load. The platinum tip resists wear, so it keeps its sharp edge and correct gap for longer than standard copper plugs.
Expect steady ignition, good cold starts and long service life. It is pre-gapped to 1.1 mm, but always check and set the gap to your vehicle’s spec.

In the words of the Vehicle Standards Agency (VCA), type approval provides "confirmation that production and samples of a design will meet specified performance standards".
For emissions components this encompasses noise, emissions and balanced back pressure, which have a strong influence on maintaining engine performance (power), and fuel efficiency. Type approval ensures that an aftermarket component will reach, or exceed the performance standard of the corresponding OE part.
Type-approval then, is a certain guarantee that an end user will receive a product of OE equivalent performance attributes.
