Why Upgrade the Air Intake?

The standard airbox on the FK7 Civic is designed with cost and noise reduction in mind, not outright performance. It can restrict airflow to the turbocharger (the component that forces more air into the engine to increase power). By replacing it with a more open, free-flowing intake, the turbo has less resistance to work against, which helps it spool – build pressure – more efficiently.
