This Milltek Sport non-resonated cat-back exhaust is designed for the VW Golf MK7.5 GTI and TCR models. It gives a louder, sportier sound and improves exhaust flow, while keeping a smart, factory-style look from the rear.
What this exhaust does
A cat-back system replaces the exhaust from the catalytic converter backwards. On this Milltek system, the non-resonated layout removes the centre silencer. This cuts weight and allows more of the turbo and exhaust note to come through.
You can expect:
- A louder, more aggressive sound compared with the stock exhaust
- Sharper response when you press the throttle pedal

Key features and benefits
Non-resonated for maximum sound
The non-resonated centre section lets more sound through, so you hear more turbo whistle, crackles and a deeper tone under load. At light throttle it is still usable day to day, but overall it is noticeably louder than stock and louder than Milltek’s resonated systems.
Improved exhaust flow helps the engine push gases out more easily. This can support gains from other upgrades such as an intake, intercooler or ECU remap, especially on tuned GTI/TCR engines.
T304L stainless steel construction
The system is built from high-grade T304L stainless steel. This material resists rust and cracking, even with heat cycles and daily use. It is a popular choice for performance exhausts because it keeps its finish and strength over time.
Milltek designs its systems to use the factory mounting points on the Golf MK7.5 platform. This helps with a neat fit and correct alignment of the tips in the bumper.

In the words of the Vehicle Standards Agency (VCA), type approval provides "confirmation that production and samples of a design will meet specified performance standards".
For emissions components this encompasses noise, emissions and balanced back pressure, which have a strong influence on maintaining engine performance (power), and fuel efficiency. Type approval ensures that an aftermarket component will reach, or exceed the performance standard of the corresponding OE part.
Type-approval then, is a certain guarantee that an end user will receive a product of OE equivalent performance attributes.
