Garrett Stage 1 Powermax™ Turbocharger for 2.0L EA888 Gen.4 (upto 450 HP)
The latest development within the Garrett POWERMAX Performance family. This stage 1 turbocharger is designed to enhance the performance of the popular Volkswagen EA888 GEN4 engine. The POWERMAX turbochargers are completely new developed turbochargers and produce a 32% higher flow than the standard Golf 8 GTI turbocharger. The main feature here, in addition to the Garrett GT2260S hull assembly, is the new generation compressor housing with preparation for the inclusion of an optional speedsensor and the milled compressor wheels with improved aerodynamics and increased pressure ratio.
This original Garrett made turbocharger is suitable for all Golf 8 GTI, Audi TT, Skoda Octavia RS, Seat Leon 2.0 TSI and most other 2.0 TFSI engines.
Compressor wheel:
All GTX compressor wheels are forged and milled from special high-strength aluminium alloys. This manufacturing process gives the turbocharger a particularly high degree of efficiency. The uniform wheel geometry also reduces any pulsation noise. By the way, you can recognise this by the “X” in the name of the turbocharger.
Bearings:
The plain bearing optimised for this application is equipped with a 360 ° axial bearing.
Cooling:
The turbocharger is equipped with water cooling. The connection is made through two connections on the side.
Turbine wheel:
The use of MAR-M as turbine wheel material enables high exhaust gas temperatures of up to 1050 °C.

The turbocharger is also at the cutting edge of technology underneath the housings: here you will find the extremely high-quality reverse rotating Garrett GT2260S hull assembly with a MAR-M exhaust wheel designed for exhaust temperatures of up to 1050 °C.
A 1050 °C stainless steel was chosen as the material here. The duct routing is adapted to the power and flow-optimised. Another advantage: all downpipes fit at the outlet of the exhaust housing.
Special feature: You can keep your old turbocharger. This allows you to restore the vehicle to its original condition if necessary. This ultimately saves a lot of time and money, because you then do not have to buy a new turbocharger.
