Forge Motorsport Front Mounting Intercooler for Peugeot 208 GTi
The Forge Motorsport Front Mounting Intercooler is a high-performance upgrade for the Peugeot 208 GTi. Designed as a full replacement for the stock intercooler, this upgrade provides superior cooling capabilities and enhances engine performance.
The stock intercooler on the 208 GTi is known to be compromised and inadequate, even on a stock car. In fact, it has been recorded to have the highest inlet temperatures ever seen on any car. These high temperatures have a detrimental effect on power and torque.
With the Forge Motorsport Front Mounting Intercooler, you can expect significant improvements in performance. The intercooler features a single pass core that mounts to the stock crash bar in the car. The included pipework connects to the stock intercooler, making installation easy.
One of the standout features of this intercooler is the use of Forge silicone hoses with a modified silicone inner liner known as Fluorosilicone. This liner ensures compatibility with modern long-life coolants, Organic Acid Technology coolants, and air containing oil mist. The construction of the hoses exceeds OEM fitments and enhances both the technical and aesthetic aspects of the engine bay.
Installation of the Forge Motorsport Front Mounting Intercooler requires minimal cutting to the radiator ducting to accommodate the pipework. All necessary components, including silicon hoses, hard pipes, clips, bolts, nuts, and jubilee clips, are included in the kit. Detailed installation instructions are also provided.
Performance-wise, the Forge intercooler has been tested on a Superchips remapped car. In comparison to the stock intercooler, the Forge intercooler showed dramatic improvements. Intake temperature dropped from 105°C to 45°C, resulting in a 60°C decrease. Power increased from 190BHP to 224BHP, an increase of 34BHP, and torque increased from 222 lb/ft to 244 lb/ft, an increase of 22 lb/ft.
