Forge Motorsport E-DV Atmospheric Valve for BMW N20 2.0T
This direct-fit electronic atmospheric diverter valve replaces the factory unit on BMW N20 2.0 turbo petrol engines. It improves boost control and reliability, and gives a clean whoosh on lift-off.
What it does
A diverter valve (often called a blow off valve) releases pressurised air when you lift off the throttle. This protects the turbo and helps keep it spinning, so the car gets back on boost faster when you get back on the power. The atmospheric design vents that air to the outside rather than back into the intake, which creates a noticeable sound.
It also helps reduce compressor surge – the chattering noise you sometimes hear on lift-off – for smoother turbo operation.
This part will not add big power on its own, but it supports tuned cars by holding boost more consistently.
Why choose this E-DV
- Plug-and-play with the factory electrical connector – no extra wiring or vacuum lines.
- Fast response for crisper throttle and smoother gear changes.
- Improved sealing to hold boost, including on tuned setups.
- Distinct atmospheric sound on lift-off.
- CNC machined aluminium body with an integrated electronic pilot valve.
- Serviceable design for long-term reliability.
- Works with the stock ECU control strategy – no remap required.
Fitment

Installation and use
Direct replacement for the OEM electronic valve. Fits using standard tools. No additional hoses or controllers needed. Idle and cruising behaviour remain stock-like, with a louder whoosh when you lift off the throttle under boost.
