Forge Motorsport Top Mount Replacement Chargecooler and Expansion Tank for BMW MSport S55 Engine
Upgrade your BMW MSport S55 Engine with the Forge Motorsport Top Mount Replacement Chargecooler and Expansion Tank. This innovative chargecooler is designed and manufactured at Forge Motorsport HQ in Gloucestershire, England, using high precision laser cut sheet metal panels and TIG welding for maximum strength and durability.
The all-aluminium construction of the chargecooler eliminates common issues such as plastic end tank splitting, failure at high boost, and leaks between the core and end tanks. The bar and plate core design, evaluated through Solidworks CAD design and CFD analysis, outperforms other alternatives on the market. With a quadruple pass design, the water flows through four passes of the cooler, resulting in improved cooling efficiency.
Unlike the OEM system, the Forge BMW M3/M4 S55 Chargecooler system uses an expansion tank instead of a header tank. This unique design includes a filler cap located at the highest point on the Chargecooler, ensuring that the charge is 100% full of coolant with no air pockets. This maximizes the efficiency of heat rejection within the Chargecooler water jacket.
The Forge Motorsport Top Mount Replacement Chargecooler and Expansion Tank offers over 71% increase in volume and over 42% increase in frontal area. In hot climate testing, constant dyno runs showed significantly lower inlet temperatures compared to the stock system, resulting in an increase in power of up to 20BHP.
As part of Forge Motorsport’s strict quality control process, each chargecooler unit is carefully inspected and pressure tested before dispatch. The expansion tank also features a 1/8 NPT port ready for water/methanol injection if required.
The installation of this chargecooler and expansion tank does not require any trimming or cutting of the vehicle, and all parts can be returned to standard if necessary. Fitting of the part is available at our performance workshop at Progressive Parts.

Forge Motorsport are one of the largest manufacturers of aftermarket turbo accessories, bringing cutting edge design and the highest quality to our product line, we strive every day to bring excellence to our customers. Sometimes, things can go wrong and we want YOU the customer to know you will be looked after beyond any level of customer service you have ever experienced before. With that in mind, the Forge Motorsport (Limited) Lifetime Warranty covers only products that have been purchased directly from us, or one of our authorised distributors/dealers.
If your Forge product fails or breaks due to a manufacturing issue or defect, we will repair or replace, at no charge to the customer at our discretion. This service will only be carried out IF the Forge product is still in its original unchanged design condition and the item/product has not been modified or changed in anyway. The Forge Motorsport (Limited) Lifetime Warranty will not cover any damage or failure caused by; improper or incorrect installation, normal wear and tear, the normal degradation of material over time, finished colour/aesthetic appearance of the product or if the product has been exposed to the use of any Traffic Film Remover or alternative acidic cleaner (commonly used in hand car washes).
The warranty will also be invalid if the Forge product has not been fitted to correct applications that it was designed for. Any damage to Forge products that occur outside of the warranty can be sent in for evaluation and a quotation to repair or replace said product along with a return shipping fee. The Forge products that are covered by our (Limited) Lifetime Warranty are to the original purchaser or owner of the Forge item for the lifetime of that said product only. The warranty policy is NOT TRANSFEREABLE However given the quality of the product that Forge manufacture we are confident of great longevity of your “Engineered for Performance” Forge part.
The Forge range of carbon fibre products are manufactured to the highest standards utilising the absolute best materials available. However, in certain applications and in areas of extreme temperature, this can lead to discolouration or fading (yellowing) of the carbon fibre. Unfortunately due to this harsh and extreme environment, your Forge carbon fibre is not warrantied for that eventuality. For the Hyundai engine cover applications, we would recommend considering this modification solely for show use, as it will discolour from heat due to the location of the turbo charger. All other aspects of your carbon fibre products are covered by our warranty process.

Stock at Progressive Parts

What do our stock statuses mean?
1+ IN STOCK in green stock is readily available in one of our warehouses for express delivery (at the time of viewing).
LOW STOCK in green means we're running low! 1 or 2 left on the shelf so act fast. Over evenings, weekends and bank holidays this stock can move quickly so please bear this in mind.
0 IN STOCK in blue means our primary warehouse does not have unallocated stock, but our UK partners do. Often these can be shipped quickly and efficiently. You'll be notified via the Track My Order page if further delays are unavoidable.
MADE TO ORDER in blue means we've partnered with a supplier which primarily makes their products to order. It's not on our shelf, but your order goes into production immediately.
0 IN STOCK in orange means everybody we work with is unfortunately out of stock. Stock is not available in the UK. The best course of action is to place an order to create an allocation from the next batch arriving.
OUT OF STOCK in red. This product is unavailable to order, for whatever reason we're unable to obtain stock or there is an issue with supply/lead times.
