FCP5508H – Ferodo Racing DS2500 Front Brake Pads – Hyundai I20N
Ferodo Racing DS2500 front brake pads are a popular upgrade for the Hyundai i20N if you want stronger, more consistent braking on fast road, track day or light competition use.
What these pads do differently
The DS2500 compound is a motorsport-developed friction material designed to give:
- Higher braking power compared to most standard pads
- More consistent feel across repeated hard stops
- Better resistance to brake fade under high temperatures
Brake fade is when your brakes lose power after repeated heavy use, usually due to high heat in the pads and discs. DS2500 pads are built to manage this heat much better than most original equipment pads.
Where they work best
Ferodo DS2500 pads are ideal for:
- Fast road driving where you brake hard and often
- Track days and driver training events
- Light racing and club motorsport
They offer strong bite from cold and keep performing well up to around 500°C, which covers most track day and spirited road use. For heavy race use with very high temperatures, you may want to look at a full race compound.
Fitment information
This set is designed as a direct replacement front pad for the Hyundai i20N. Pad shape dimensions are approximately:
- Pad length: 137.9 mm
- Pad height: 61.6 mm
- Pad thickness: 18 mm
- Backing plate height: 54.5 mm
Ferodo internal part reference: FCP5508H
Compound: DS2500
Typical use: Front axle, track day and light race
To confirm fitment for your specific car, please use the vehicle lookup on the Progressive Parts website or check the “Vehicle Fitment” tab.
What to expect in use
You should notice a firmer, more confident brake pedal and stronger stopping power, especially when the brakes are hot. Brake feel is more stable through repeated hard stops, which helps you brake later and more consistently on track.
Important: As with any performance pad, some increase in brake dust and brake noise is possible compared to standard pads, especially when cold. Proper bedding-in (running-in) is essential to get the best performance and pad life.
