The Eventuri FL5 Carbon Fibre Intake is the result of years of refinement, building on the success of the previous FK8 system and taking full advantage of the extra space available in the FL5 engine bay. Designed for the latest generation Honda Civic Type R, this intake combines a fully sealed carbon airbox with a precision engineered airflow path to deliver consistent cold air to the turbo, even under hard driving.

Sitting directly behind the radiator, the intake area on the FL5 is exposed to significant heat from the rad fan, turbo and downpipe. Eventuri’s sealed airbox shields the filter from these heat sources, helping maintain lower intake air temperatures and a more reliable supply of cool, dense air to the turbocharger.

What makes this intake different

The OEM flexible rubber intake hose has deep internal ridges that create turbulence and restrict airflow. Eventuri replaces this with a carbon Venturi stack and inlet tube that curves smoothly into the filter, keeping the airflow laminar (smooth and undisturbed) from the filter all the way to the turbo. The result is reduced drag, more efficient boost generation and a small but meaningful reduction in turbo lag.

To handle natural engine movement, the inlet tube is designed to float within the airbox while still maintaining a heat seal. This clever detail removes stress on the components without compromising the sealed environment around the filter.

Airbox design

The carbon airbox has been shaped to make full use of the available engine bay volume while minimising heat ingress. By keeping the filter completely enclosed, hot air from the radiator fan, turbo and downpipe is prevented from being drawn into the intake. This is critical on the FL5, as an exposed filter in this location would actively pull in heated air once the engine is up to temperature.

Venturi stack and MAF tube

The carbon tube features an integrated MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor mount and a Venturi stack matched precisely to the inner diameter of the filter neck. This smooth curvature keeps airflow attached to the surface as it transitions from the filter into the tube, replacing the turbulent stock rubber hose with an aerodynamically efficient path.

Silicone hose with internal step

The final piece is a silicone hose that replaces the OEM hose and breather assembly, connecting the carbon intake to the alloy turbo tube. Eventuri have built in an internal step that mates flush with the OEM metal tube, eliminating the exposed metal edge often left behind with other aftermarket silicone hoses. This keeps the airflow clean and uninterrupted right up to the turbo inlet.
