Cobra Sport Subaru Impreza Turbo (93-00) 3″ Track Turbo Back Exhaust
The Cobra Sport 3″ Track Turbo Back Exhaust is a full performance exhaust system for the classic Subaru Impreza Turbo (1993-2000) 2.0L models. It replaces the original exhaust from the turbo all the way to the tailpipes for a freer-flowing system and a stronger sound.
What this exhaust does
This system is made from 3 inch (76.2 mm) pipework and runs from the turbo back. It replaces the factory front pipe, standard catalytic converter, centre section and rear silencer.
You can choose between:
- Sports catalyst front-pipe – uses a high-flow sports cat to keep emissions control in place while improving flow.
- De-cat front-pipe – removes the catalytic converter completely for maximum flow and response. For motorsport and off-road use only.
There are also different tailpipe styles (TP47, TP48, TP55), so you can pick the look that suits your car best.
Why it matters for performance and sound
A turbo back system reduces exhaust back pressure. In simple terms, it lets exhaust gases leave the engine more easily. This can help the turbo spool up faster and support higher power levels, especially when combined with other upgrades and ECU tuning.
The 3″ pipework supports tuned cars better than the smaller stock system. You can expect a sharper throttle feel and a more aggressive exhaust note compared with standard.
Sound levels are aimed at track use, but they will still be louder than the factory system on the road. The tone is designed to suit the classic Impreza boxer engine, with a deeper and more purposeful sound.
Track use and noise limits
This system is designed with track sound limits in mind, but it is not guaranteed to pass every track day noise test. Track noise rules vary by circuit and event.

- Testing was done on a standard car without other engine or exhaust modifications.
- Other upgrades (for example different turbo, manifold or intake) can increase noise levels.
- Each track and organiser may measure noise in a different way and have different limits.

This Cobra Sport system fits Subaru Impreza Turbo 2.0L models from 1993 to 2000 and uses 3″ (76.2 mm) pipework throughout from the turbo back.
