How the S58 Cooling System Works
Unlike many performance engines that cool the charged air (the compressed air fed into the engine by the turbos) using outside air directly, the S58 uses a water-to-air intercooler system. A separate coolant circuit absorbs heat from the compressed charge air before it enters the engine. The cooler that coolant is, the better it can absorb heat, and the cooler, denser air entering the engine, the more efficiently it burns fuel and produces power.
In standard form, the OEM radiator copes well enough for everyday driving. Under sustained high load, such as repeated hard acceleration runs or track sessions, it can begin to struggle. That’s where this Wagner Tuning upgrade comes in.
What This Kit Offers
Wagner Tuning have redesigned the water cooler core from the ground up using their competition racing core technology. The result is a 60% increase in coolant volume capacity compared to the standard unit, achieved by increasing the core thickness from 30 mm to 48 mm while keeping the same external footprint of 505 mm x 605 mm. This means the radiator slots directly into the OEM location without modification, but holds significantly more coolant and transfers heat far more effectively.

The internal and external cooling surface ratio has been carefully balanced so that heat transfer is maximised without restricting airflow to the engine’s main coolant radiator sitting behind it. The cooler also features a thermally conductive anti-corrosion coating, which helps protect the unit long-term and maintains cooling efficiency over time.
