AIRTEC Motorsport Hyundai i20N Oil Cooler Kit
Keeping oil temperatures under control is one of the most important things you can do for a performance engine, especially if you use your i20N on track or push it hard on the road. The AIRTEC Motorsport Oil Cooler Kit for the Hyundai i20N is a purpose-built solution designed to do exactly that – reduce oil temperatures and protect your engine when it matters most.
Developed in-house by AIRTEC Motorsport in the UK, this kit addresses a common problem for modified and track-driven i20N owners: the standard oil cooling system simply wasn’t designed with sustained high-performance use in mind. Left unchecked, high oil temperatures can reduce lubrication quality and put unnecessary strain on your engine over time.
What’s in the Kit
AIRTEC have engineered a complete, bolt-on package rather than a collection of generic parts. The centrepiece is a large capacity external oil cooler with mounting brackets already welded in place, designed to sit neatly behind the front bumper despite the limited space available. Connecting everything are high-quality braided hose lines fitted with Aerotec fittings (these are precision-engineered, motorsport-grade connectors), along with a CNC-machined sandwich plate – a component that fits between the engine and oil filter to redirect oil flow through the cooler. All fixtures, fittings, and a set of detailed fitting instructions are included.
Minor drilling is required during installation, but the kit is designed to integrate cleanly with the car’s existing setup.
Important – Four Bolt or Five Bolt: Which Do You Need?
The i20N uses different oil sandwich plate configurations depending on the model year, so it is essential you select the correct option before ordering.
- 2021 models: Five bolt sandwich plate
- 2022 models: Five bolt sandwich plate
- 2023 models: Four bolt sandwich plate
- 2024 models onwards: A different type of four bolt pattern – not currently supported by this kit
If your car is a late 2022 or early 2023 build, it may fall in a crossover period. In this case, we strongly advise you physically check the sandwich plate on your car before ordering. It is located on the front of the engine, underneath the inlet manifold. Please refer to Steps 10 to 15 of the AIRTEC fitting instructions for the precise location and guidance on identifying which type you have.
Please also note: as this is a motorsport product, you may notice an increase in engine noise or vibration (engine harmonics) through the cabin once fitted. This is normal and expected.
