Scorpion BMW M135i (F70) GPF Delete
The Scorpion GPF Delete for the BMW M135i (F70) replaces the factory Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) with free-flowing pipework. It is aimed at drivers who want a stronger exhaust sound and less restriction for tuning.
What is a GPF delete and why consider it?
The GPF is a filter in the exhaust system that traps tiny soot particles from the petrol engine. While it helps reduce emissions, it also:
- Reduces exhaust noise and character
- Adds back pressure, which can limit power and response
- Restricts airflow, which can hold back tuning gains
A GPF delete removes this filter and replaces it with smooth, straight-through pipework. This improves exhaust flow and lets the engine breathe more easily.

In the words of the Vehicle Standards Agency (VCA), type approval provides "confirmation that production and samples of a design will meet specified performance standards".
For emissions components this encompasses noise, emissions and balanced back pressure, which have a strong influence on maintaining engine performance (power), and fuel efficiency. Type approval ensures that an aftermarket component will reach, or exceed the performance standard of the corresponding OE part.
Type-approval then, is a certain guarantee that an end user will receive a product of OE equivalent performance attributes.
