Infinity Design BMW M2/M3/M4 (G8X) Carbon Intake
For the G-Series M2, M3 and M4, the intake system has been completely redesigned to replace not just the intake but also the turbo inlets. The flared-out turbo inlets are significantly larger than the stock units, engineered to smooth and increase the speed of airflow into the turbo impellers.
The turbo inlets are fed by enlarged, tapered intake tubes that draw air from bespoke air filters, which are housed in fully encapsulated air ducts and filter housings. A significant amount of time was spent on optimizing the air ducts beyond the norm by incorporating three separate cold air feeds:
- A feed from the frontal factory air inlet.
- A second frontal feed located in a zone where only ambient air was detected during testing.
- Two unique feeds that draw air from the gap between the chassis and the wheel arch liners, which face directly downward.
This comprehensive design strategy ensures the maximum amount of air is taken in at the lowest possible intake temperature.
The final result is a stunning under-bonnet appearance combined with a more eager and smoother throttle response. Drivers will experience more quickly available torque and a sophisticated intake sound under load.
