The bespoke, high-flow air filter features a large surface area that alters the direction of airflow toward the outer walls of the velocity-stack-shaped intake tube. This design creates a smoother, less restrictive airflow, which reduces the load on the engine and allows more ambient air to enter.
The overall effect is a vastly improved driving experience with:
- Faster throttle response: This provides the sensation of more readily available torque at lower engine speeds.
- An incredible V10 F1-car-like induction sound.
- More power.
Why a Sealed Intake Is Crucial for the S85 V10 Engine
Most aftermarket intake systems feature open designs that pull in hot air from the engine bay. This has a two-fold negative effect on performance:
- Reduced Oxygen Density: Hot engine bay air is less dense and contains less oxygen, which naturally reduces power output.
- ECU Compensation: The ECU, through the intake air temperature sensor in the MAF, detects the higher temperature air. The compensation tables then reduce ignition timing, which has a drastic effect on power. For the MSS85 ECU in the S85 V10 engine, not only is ignition timing retarded, but fuel delivery is also increased, further reducing power.
The Infinity Design lower air filter and inlet air duct housings have been meticulously engineered to allow for maximum airflow while creating a perfect seal with the large factory air inlet ducts. This design keeps intake air temperatures at their lowest possible point, ensuring optimal performance at all times.

1+ IN STOCK in green stock is readily available in one of our warehouses for express delivery (at the time of viewing).
LOW STOCK in green means we're running low! 1 or 2 left on the shelf so act fast. Over evenings, weekends and bank holidays this stock can move quickly so please bear this in mind.
0 IN STOCK in blue means our primary warehouse does not have unallocated stock, but our UK partners do. Often these can be shipped quickly and efficiently. You'll be notified via the Track My Order page if further delays are unavoidable.
MADE TO ORDER in blue means we've partnered with a supplier which primarily makes their products to order. It's not on our shelf, but your order goes into production immediately.
