Six-piston Apollo big brake kit now in stock – initial release tailored for VW’s iconic transporter van. Ever since its debut, EBC Brakes Racing’s 6-piston Apollo Big Brake Kit has set a new standard for braking performance across a range of vehicle models, blending precision engineering from Britain with unmatched value-for-money.
The Apollo-6 Calipers are available in BLACK, BLUE, RED OR YELLOW finishes and include Yellowstuff or Bluestuff compound pads.
Alongside its availability as a standalone caliper option, the inaugural release of the full 6-piston Apollo Big Brake Kit is custom-tailored for the immensely popular T5 and T6.

Apollo Calipers
Apollo brake calipers employ a two-piece bolted design, integrating high-tensile 12.9 grade steel bolts to fortify the caliper bridge section. Computer Finite Element Analysis (FEA) demonstrates that employing high-tensile steel bolts to reinforce the bridge leads to notable enhancements in caliper stiffness compared to a monobloc design. A sturdier bridge section reduces elongation during brake application, resulting in a firmer and more responsive pedal feel, particularly following extended periods of heavy braking where the aluminium bridge of a monobloc design caliper significantly softens with rising temperatures. In contrast to the majority of cast calipers, typically produced through gravity casting, Apollo Series caliper bodies are machined from heat-treated low-pressure castings. Low-pressure casting represents a significantly more expensive production technique than conventional gravity casting. However, by exerting pressure to force the aluminium alloy into the mould, the consistency of the final part is substantially enhanced. This confers EBC’s Apollo Series brake calipers with a noticeable performance advantage over conventional gravity cast calipers, showcasing superior overall strength and comparable caliper body stiffness to forged counterparts. Unlike the majority of painted calipers available, Apollo brake calipers eschew a powder coat finish. Powder coating is prone to cracking and discolouration when exposed to high temperatures, resulting in a rapid fading of colour with use. We aim for Apollo calipers to not only look impressive upon purchase but to maintain their visual appeal for years to come. That’s why EBC applies our advanced high-temperature Teflon™ polyester coating process to finish every caliper. This top-coat paint system mirrors the technology used in the cookware industry for the undersides of pans, providing a durable, fade-resistant coating that is easy to clean and ensures that Apollo calipers will retain their aesthetic excellence for years to come.

This item is classed as a consumable and is covered by a limited warranty against manufacturing or material defects only. Warranty does not cover wear and tear, improper installation, misuse, or use outside manufacturer recommendations.
EBC's Warranty Policy
Automotive Disc Brake Pads
The EBC Brakes warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship only. Warranty is for replacement of similar product or refund of purchase value only excluding all labour and ancillary charges such as vehicle towing, fitting, inconvenience, purchasing of other manufacturers products and is good for a period of twelve months from date of purchase or 10,000 miles of highway use. Proof of mileage will be required. Warranty is invalid if product is used for taxi/hire car, racing, rally, drifting, trackday experience driving, or any other form of competition. There is absolutely no warranty on any EBC product for race use. Warranty does not cover brake noise or normal wear and tear. Some brake pad systems cause pads to wear faster than others. Drivers/users must assess the performance and durability of EBC Brakes products themselves if any EBC product is to be used in racing.

No warranty is offered for brake vibration suffered due to uneven rotor thickness wear after incorrect installation of brake rotors. It is commonly known in the brake rotor business that accurate mounting and checking of runout on brake rotors is paramount at installation and in spite of necessary warnings many mechanics still see fit to ignore this warning and make no effort whatsoever to check rotor runout. This leads to brake vibration in the 3-5,000 miles lifetime period and is not a warrantable condition. The solution for vibration at this stage is to have the rotors turned or replaced and to thoroughly clean the mounting flange on the vehicle and carefully check for runout before returning the vehicle to service use.
How to proceed with a warranty claim
A proof of purchase receipt showing the date of purchase and mileage installed, endorsed by an independent mechanic who fitted the parts or a store staff member who sold you the parts will be required to be returned with all of the products purchased. To enable your vehicle to be used whilst your warranty claim is considered, should you need to purchase replacement parts this must be done by purchasing the parts from EBC themselves.
In the event of a successful compensation award, we will refund the credit card that you used to buy the replacement parts in full or part depending on the nature of the claim. EBC Brakes reserves the right to make full or partial compensation at its sole discretion depending upon the condition and mileage used of the returned suspect parts. For example, if you have used the product for several thousand miles and the defect is noticed, only a partial compensation may be offered.

What do our stock statuses mean?
1+ IN STOCK in green stock is readily available in one of our warehouses for express delivery (at the time of viewing).
LOW STOCK in green means we're running low! 1 or 2 left on the shelf so act fast. Over evenings, weekends and bank holidays this stock can move quickly so please bear this in mind.
0 IN STOCK in blue means our primary warehouse does not have unallocated stock, but our UK partners do. Often these can be shipped quickly and efficiently. You'll be notified via the Track My Order page if further delays are unavoidable.
MADE TO ORDER in blue means we've partnered with a supplier which primarily makes their products to order. It's not on our shelf, but your order goes into production immediately.
0 IN STOCK in orange means everybody we work with is unfortunately out of stock. Stock is not available in the UK. The best course of action is to place an order to create an allocation from the next batch arriving.
OUT OF STOCK in red. This product is unavailable to order, for whatever reason we're unable to obtain stock or there is an issue with supply/lead times.
